Today, 26 July 2017, I am officially announcing a decision that will shape my life and, I hope, inspire many others: I am dedicating myself to being a full-time human rights advocate and educator.
Today marks a new chapter. From this moment onward, every action I take, every project I undertake, and every initiative I lead will be guided by one mission: to ensure that human rights are known, understood, and respected by everyone, especially young people.
Human rights are not abstract. They are the principles that protect our freedom, dignity and opportunities. They are what allow you to go to school safely, speak your mind, pursue your dreams and participate fully in society. Yet, many young people still do not know these rights exist or how to claim them. That is why I am stepping forward.
And here is the exciting part: You can be part of this journey. You, yes you, have the power to become a human rights advocate in your own community. You do not need a title, a degree, or a platform to start. All you need is passion, awareness and the willingness to act.
Being an advocate can take many forms:
1. Educate your friends and peers about their rights.
2. Speak up against injustice whenever you see it.
3. Support initiatives that protect vulnerable groups in your community.
4. Share knowledge through blogs, social media, or local workshops.
Each small action contributes to a bigger movement. Young people can create communities where everyone is aware of their rights and empowered to protect them.
Today is not just about my decision. It is an invitation. Join me, step forward, and become a champion for human rights. Whether you are a student, a professional, or simply someone passionate about justice, your voice matters, your actions matter and your commitment can make a difference.
Let us rise as a generation that not only knows its rights but also defends and promotes them peacefully, powerfully and persistently.
